Privacy and support

iPhoneAndroid

MiruXR has no accounts. We keep none of your data on our servers, and we never sell your data or use it for ads. Almost everything stays on your phone. The few features that need an outside service are below.

The full text is the privacy policy: miruxr.com/privacy.

  • Photos and videos: to show your gallery in the glasses. They are read on the phone and never uploaded.
  • Motion sensors: for head tracking and the pointer.
  • Activity (step count): for the activity widget.
  • Notifications, calendar and camera: only if you turn them on, to show them in the glasses.

Location is optional. The app asks for it only for the weather widget and walking navigation, and everything else works without it. When you use those features, your location goes to the service that answers, and MiruXR keeps no copy.

  • Weather: your coordinates go to Open-Meteo to get the current weather. On iPhone, they go to Apple Weather.
  • Walking navigation: the place search goes to OpenStreetMap Nominatim, with your approximate area so nearby places come first. The route is calculated by OSRM, and the map is loaded from CARTO. On iPhone, it uses Apple Maps.

To fix bugs, the app sends crash reports to Sentry. When you tap Diagnostics, it also sends a report about the connection to your glasses: your phone and glasses model, the firmware and the result of each check.

These reports carry a random installation identifier, but no name, email or account, and they are not linked to your identity. IP addresses are not stored, and reports are deleted automatically after 90 days.

The Browser opens websites and streaming services that belong to other companies, with their own privacy policies. MiruXR does not control or receive the data those sites collect. Voice commands use your phone's own speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iPhone).

MiruXR shows no ads. It does not track you across other apps or websites, and it does not sell or share your data for advertising. The app is not directed at children.

Before you ask, check Questions and the pages in Troubleshooting.

MiruXR is made by one developer, and a good report helps a lot. Please tell us:

  • Your phone model and its iOS or Android version.
  • Your glasses model.
  • The app version. You find it at the bottom of About MiruXR.
  • What you did and what happened, and whether it happens every time.
  • The report code from Diagnostics, and a short recording if you can.

The steps are in Report a problem.
