Navigation
Type or say where you want to go, and follow the route in the glasses. The next turn shows at the top of your view and a small live map at the bottom, so the middle stays clear and you can see the street.
iPhoneAndroidWhat you need
Section titled "What you need"- Access to your location. MiruXR asks for it the first time. If you said no, the phone shows Location permission denied. Enable it in Settings.: allow location for MiruXR in the phone's settings.
- An internet connection, to search places and calculate the route.
- The HUD. See HUD and widgets.
Start a route
Section titled "Start a route"- In the HUD, do one of these:
- Switch to the Street mode. The glasses ask Where are we going?.
- Or add the Map widget with the widgets button on the strip.
- Choose how to tell MiruXR where to go:
- Say it out loud: say the place out loud, for example "Take me to Main Street".
- Type it on the phone: the phone opens Where to?. Write an address or the name of a place in Search address or place, or tap the microphone to dictate it.
- On the phone, pick a result. They are sorted by distance, and the closest one is marked NEAREST.
- Choose how you travel: Walking, Car or Transit. The phone shows the distance and the arrival time.
- Tap Start on glasses. The phone goes back to being the controller, and the route starts in the glasses.
Typing on the phone is easier than typing in the air, so that is where you search. The map and the turns are always in the glasses.
Follow the route
Section titled "Follow the route"- At the top: the next turn, how far it is, and the distance and time left to your destination.
- At the bottom: a small map with your position and the route.
MiruXR moves to the next turn by itself as you walk. When you get there, the glasses show You have arrived and the route ends.
Stop a route
Section titled "Stop a route"- Point at the turn card or the map, and tap its close button.
- The glasses ask Cancel navigation. Choose Yes, stop to end the route, or Continue to keep going.
iPhone and Android
Section titled "iPhone and Android"The route looks the same on both phones. What changes is where the places and routes come from:
Places and routes come from OpenStreetMap. MiruXR always calculates a walking route on Android, even if you choose Car or Transit.
Places and routes come from Apple Maps.
