If a video doesn't open, MiruXR says why: usually a file format or codec it can't play, or a server that is too slow.
Media servers: Plex, Jellyfin and shared folders
Section titled "Media servers: Plex, Jellyfin and shared folders"Choose Network in the Gallery. MiruXR looks for shared folders and media servers on your Wi-Fi, and the ones it finds appear there.
To add a server by hand:
- In Network, tap Add server.
- In Type (tap to change), choose SMB (a shared folder), Jellyfin or Plex.
- Fill in Host / IP, and if needed Username (optional), Password and Folder / share. You can also give it a name.
- Tap Connect.
If it doesn't connect:
- Check that the server is on and that the phone is on the same Wi-Fi.
- Check the username and password.
- Over a slow connection (for example from outside your home), a movie may not keep up. Media servers work best on your home network.
360 and VR180 videos
Section titled "360 and VR180 videos"A 360 video surrounds you: you look around by turning your head. It needs glasses with head tracking (see Supported glasses).
- Open the video.
- Open the window's menu (the three dots on its bar) and tap Immersive 360°. This option appears when the video is a 360 or VR180 video.
- Look around. To set the front, use the recenter button next to the close button.
- Close the video to go back to your windows.
3D videos
Section titled "3D videos"MiruXR detects videos made for 3D side by side (full width) and switches the glasses to 3D to play them.
Turn 2D into 3D (Beta)
Section titled "Turn 2D into 3D (Beta)"MiruXR can add depth to a normal video in a browser window, or on Android in an app window or a Gallery video.
- Tap 3D on the window's top bar. For a Gallery video on Android, tap the 3D badge on the video's bar in Space, or the 3D button in the video controls in Theater.
- If the glasses need to change to 3D, MiruXR does it, or tells you which button to press on the glasses. On Air glasses it's holding Brightness + for 3 seconds; on XBX, holding X. To go back to 2D, use the same button.
- Tap 3D again to choose the depth: 2D, Soft, Normal, Strong or Max.
Soft is the most comfortable for long sessions. Max has the most impact, but it can tire your eyes and bend edges and text.
- iPhone iPhone: 3D works in Theater. Switching to Spatial turns it off.
- Android Android: 3D works in Theater and in Spatial, in browser windows, Android app windows and Gallery videos. Closing the video turns its 3D off.
- If your phone can't show full 3D, MiruXR switches to Half SBS. With some phone and glasses combinations, 3D is not possible, and MiruXR tells you.
