GameNative games
GameNative is a free app that runs your Steam PC games on an Android phone. It is made by other people, not by MiruXR: thanks to its team for their work. MiruXR shows your GameNative games in the Deck of your glasses, and VR games open in VR.
AndroidWhat you need
Section titled "What you need"- The Android apps setup done. GameNative opens in a window in your glasses.
- The VR setup done, with MiruXR chosen in the OpenXR Runtime Broker.
- The latest XR version of GameNative. Only the XR version has VR. Download the newest one from GameNative's releases on GitHub: the file has
legacy-xrin its name. If you have the normal version, MiruXR says "To play in VR, install the XR version of GameNative (legacy-xr)". - Your Steam account signed in to GameNative, and at least one game installed in GameNative.
Bring your games to the Deck
Section titled "Bring your games to the Deck"GameNative can write a small file for each installed game in a folder you choose (its Frontend Sync option). MiruXR reads that folder. You turn it on once.
- Open the Deck and choose the Android section.
- Tap the card Your GameNative games. The guide Bring your GameNative games opens. Each step checks itself off.
- Open GameNative. It opens in a window in your glasses. You can also do the next steps on your phone.
- In GameNative, open the menu (top right), then Settings, Interface, Frontend Sync, and the Steam folder.
- Choose the Documents folder. Then tap Use this folder and Allow.
- Tap OK.
When it is done, MiruXR says how many games it found: They're in your Deck now. VR games open in VR.
- Open the Deck and choose the Android section. Your games come first, with their cover, before your apps.
- VR games have a VR mark. Tap one: GameNative opens in its window and the game starts in VR.
- Games without the mark open flat, in GameNative's window.
Without a physical controller, your phone is the controller. See Play a VR game for calibration, centering and exiting.
When you install or remove a game in GameNative, go back to the Deck: the list updates.
If it doesn't work
Section titled "If it doesn't work"- A game is missing from the Deck: in GameNative's Frontend Sync, the Steam row must say Documents, and the game must be installed.
- No covers, no VR mark, and VR games open flat: the first time, MiruXR asks the Steam store which games are VR. Connect to the internet and go back to the Deck.
- It stays on "Launching game" and never starts: your Steam account is playing on another device (for example, your PC). Close the game there and try again.
- A VR game doesn't start from the Deck: open the game once from GameNative with its own Play button, close it, and then try again from the Deck.
- The game closes after a few seconds the first time: open it again. This sometimes happens on the first start after installing or updating GameNative.
- MiruXR says GameNative couldn't open the game: GameNative's window stays open. Try opening the game from GameNative.
Problems inside GameNative itself (Steam sign-in, downloads, game settings) are best asked to the GameNative team.
